Tier I prerequisites are Psych 1, one biological science course, one social science course, and one quantitative course such as Stat 20 or Math 51/52, plus Psych 101. All except Psych 101 must be completed before arriving. Source

Prerequisites must be letter-graded with D- or above, and a 2.0 minimum GPA in prerequisite courses is required for guaranteed admission, effective Spring 2026. Source

For Fall 2027, transfers who select Psychology as their primary major are automatically declared. Psych 101 must be completed in the first semester. Source
The department's High Demand Major designation applied only to first-years admitted Fall 2023 through Spring 2024 and does not apply to transfers. Source
Starting Fall 2027, transfers offered admission to Letters and Science are admitted directly into the major selected on the UC application, with no separate declaration process. Source
Letters and Science requires the UC 7-course pattern and a minimum 3.0 UC-transferable GPA by the end of the fall term of application. IGETC, Cal-GETC and Essential Skills are not required for admission. Source
