Transferring to APU
What Azusa Pacific University expects from community college transfers. Its deadlines and course rules differ from UC and CSU, so plan for it separately.

What you need
- Transfer applicants complete APU's own online application, a Statement of Agreement with Institutional Policy and a Personal Statement. The Apply links go to APU's applicant portal, and the pages opened do not mention the Common App. Source
- The minimum college GPA for transfer is 2.2, and some majors require a higher GPA. Source
- APU does not require a specific set of courses or a minimum number of units before applying. Applicants transferring fewer than 15 units must also submit a high school transcript. Source
- Under the 2026-2027 catalog, full Cal-GETC, IGETC or CSU Breadth certification waives all APU general education except PRCR 100, PRST 200 and PRST 250 (9 units). The certification must be completed at the community college before the student enrolls at APU. Source
ADT pathway
The 2026-2027 APU catalog states that students with an approved AA-T or AS-T are guaranteed admission with junior standing and can finish the bachelor's degree in no more than 68 units if they stay on track. The ADT must be similar to the intended APU major and be completed by September 30 for fall admits, and students must stay continuously enrolled in the same major to keep the 68-unit guarantee.
Scholarships and aid
- APU's transfer page lists transfer scholarships of $23,000 (President's), $20,000 (Provost's), $19,000 (Deans') and $16,000 (Directors') and says 100% of new students receive one of them. The page does not state which entry term or whether amounts are per year. Source
