What you need
- Apply through the Common Application. The $70 application fee can be waived for applicants who demonstrate financial need. Source
- Applicants must complete at least one year of full-time academic work in good standing at a two- or four-year college by the term they apply for. Applicants who already hold a bachelor's degree are not admitted. Source
- No specific required courses or minimum GPA are listed. Applicants who have completed many courses compatible with the Harvey Mudd Common Core Curriculum are described as a good fit. Source
- Required items include a College or Transfer Report, a Mid-Term Report if currently enrolled, official transcripts from all colleges and high schools attended, two essays and recommendations from a math or science instructor and a humanities or social sciences instructor. Source
- Transfer students must complete at least two years as full-time students at Harvey Mudd. Credit status is estimated by the registrar after admission and faculty make official placement decisions at fall orientation, and some transfers may need placement exams. Source
Scholarships and aid
- For the 2027-2028 aid year, the CSS Profile is required for Harvey Mudd need-based grant consideration. Students seeking only federal and state grants and loans need to complete only the FAFSA. Source
