What you need
- Transfer applicants apply through the Common App. The transfer page gives the fee waiver code Transfer26 to apply for free. Source
- Minimum requirements are high school graduation or equivalent and an academic college GPA of 2.0 or higher. There is no minimum unit requirement, but applicants with fewer than 23 semester or 34 quarter transferable units may need to submit a high school transcript. Source
- Saint Mary's guarantees admission to applicants who complete 23 UC-transferable semester or 34 quarter units with a cumulative academic GPA of 2.50, as calculated by Saint Mary's, and are in good standing at their current institution. Source
- Courses must be completed with a grade of C- or higher. Remedial, vocational and non-academic courses do not count for admission, and UC-transferable courses from California community colleges are usually accepted. Source
- A maximum of 74 lower-division semester units or 111 lower-division quarter units are transferable to Saint Mary's. Source
ADT pathway
Saint Mary's guarantees admission to ADT students who meet its admissions requirements in 27 majors, plus some concentrations, that have ADT pathways. It guarantees that at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units transfer, junior standing, and completion of the degree in no more than 68 semester units for full-time students who stay on track.
Scholarships and aid
- The Community College Pathway Grant gives $5,000 to transfers from any of the 116 California community colleges. No extra forms are required, and it renews yearly for up to three years of full-time study. Source
- The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and the Alpha Gamma Sigma Scholarship are each $5,000 for admitted members who document membership on the Common App or college transcript. Source
- A 3.00 or higher academic GPA is needed to be considered for a merit scholarship. Source
- The Robert W. Summers Scholarship gives $6,000 per year to one transferring or continuing junior in Communication or journalism with a 3.0+ GPA, by application. Source
