What you need
- Fall 2027 transfer applicants apply through the Common App and also complete a Panther Profile. The application fee is $70 (non-refundable) or a fee waiver if eligible. Source
- Chapman states there is no minimum credit requirement to apply as a transfer student. Source
- Transfer students should complete a transferable college-level English course and a transferable math course before their first semester at Chapman. Source
- Chapman accepts full IGETC certification, CSU GE certification or a completed Associate Degree for Transfer for general education, with no preference between them. The certification or degree must be completed before the student starts classes at Chapman. Source
- A maximum of 70 semester credits of community college credit will be applied toward the bachelor's degree. The minimum grade accepted for transfer credit is C-. Source
- All Fall 2027 transfer applicants submit transcripts from every college attended and one letter of recommendation. Applicants with fewer than 60 semester or 90 quarter units completed at the time of application must also submit high school documents. Source
ADT pathway
Chapman's transfer page says a completed Associate Degree for Transfer satisfies general education the same way IGETC or CSU certification does. No current Chapman page found states an admission guarantee for ADT holders under the AICCU ADT Commitment.
Scholarships and aid
- Transfer merit scholarship eligibility is based on previous college GPA. Chapman merit scholarships can be as high as $42,000 per year, and the length of a transfer award depends on the grade level at entry. Source
- Transfers who receive a Chapman merit scholarship and belong to Phi Theta Kappa or the Honors Transfer Council of California are eligible for additional scholarships of up to $5,000 per year. Source
