Transferring to CSUN
What California State University, Northridge expects from community college transfers for fall 2027. The campus isn’t impacted for transfers, so most majors take every CSU-eligible applicant.

Impaction at CSUN
CSUN says local/nonlocal-area impaction is no longer in effect and only two majors are impacted. For fall 2027 through spring 2028, California transfer applicants to other majors are reviewed under standard CSU criteria.

Local admission area
CSUN says local/nonlocal-area impaction is no longer in effect, so transfers get no local-area advantage. Only the two impacted majors use extra criteria.
ADT and the Transfer Success Pathway
CSUN gives ADT holders priority admission consideration even when a CSUN major is impacted, if the ADT matches a CSUN major. They enter with junior standing and can finish in 60 more units if they do not change majors. The page states no GPA bonus.
All CSUN bachelor's majors are open to TSP except Cinema and Television Arts (Film and Television Production), Music, Nursing and Radiologic Sciences. Students apply August 1 to October 31 each year and must transfer within three years.
Dates for fall 2027
For fall 2027, applicants can start the Cal State Apply application on August 1, 2026, and can submit it starting October 1, 2026. The priority filing deadline is November 30, 2026. CSU says many campuses and majors still accept applications after the priority period.

CSUN's spring 2027 transfer application ran July 1 to October 15, 2026 and was open to all transfer applicants. Final transcripts are due January 15, 2027, and the intent to enroll deadline is November 1, 2026.
