Impaction at Sacramento State

Local admission area

Sacramento State's online catalog (undergraduate admission PDF, no year printed) treats transfers as local if most of their units come from American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento City, Sierra, San Joaquin Delta, Solano, Woodland or Yuba College. Local applicants who meet minimum requirements are offered admission to the university but may not get into an impacted major.

ADT and the Transfer Success Pathway

Applicants self-report the ADT on their application and must have their community college confirm it by March 15 for fall admission. Sacramento State asks for an updated official transcript once the ADT is awarded.

Sacramento State offers the Transfer Success Pathway dual admission for first-time students starting at a California community college. Students must complete an ADT or an established course of study and commit to transferring within three years.

For fall 2027, applicants can start the Cal State Apply application on August 1, 2026, and can submit it starting October 1, 2026. The priority filing deadline is November 30, 2026. CSU says many campuses and majors still accept applications after the priority period.
