What Berkeley expects

  • Business Administration B.S. (Haas)

    Courses to finish

Haas prerequisites are Econ 1 or 2, one approved statistics course such as Stat 20 or 21, two semesters of calculus such as Math 16A and 16B or Math 51 and 52, and R1A and R1B, each with C- or better for a letter grade. Source

Prerequisites are not required at application, but the committee prefers as many as possible done by the end of fall, and all must be finished by the end of spring before entry. Source

    Selection

Haas reviews holistically, weighing grades, course load, prerequisite performance, consistency and impact of activities, leadership and essay responses. Source

    Campus rule

A 3.0 minimum, prerequisites done by spring and no more than five years old, and a separate Haas application due January 31. IGETC and Cal-GETC aren’t accepted. Source

    Also note

Completing prerequisites does not guarantee admission because applicants far outnumber spaces, and junior transfers are not eligible for the M.E.T. program. Source

IGETC, Cal-GETC and UC Reciprocity are neither required nor recommended for Haas admission. Source

    Every Berkeley major

Every Berkeley college requires at least 60 semester (90 quarter) UC-transferable units by the end of the spring term before fall enrollment, and major preparation is listed on ASSIST and in the Berkeley Catalog. Source
