Free-generator letter content
Details entered into a letter generator and edits to the letter are processed in your browser. The generator does not send those details to our payment service or analytics. Choosing an email action opens your email app with the text; sending that email uses your email provider. Downloading or printing uses your browser and device.
Storage on your device
Favorite template choices, draft details, full-text edits and draft timestamps are saved in your browser’s local storage under “letterready:workspace:v1”. The generator also remembers your name under “letterready:name”. These drafts are kept on the current device and browser, not synchronized to an account or another device.
In your workspace, you can delete individual drafts, clear all saved writing and preferences, or turn off automatic draft saving. Turning saving off keeps existing drafts until you delete them. On a shared device, clear saved writing when you finish. Clearing the browser’s site data also removes drafts; keep downloaded copies of important documents. Draft storage is limited to 40 drafts, and older drafts are kept until you delete them.
Checklist progress is kept in the current page only. For previous purchases, a purchase-session reference can be stored in sessionStorage in the confirmation tab to support repeat downloads; it is cleared when that browser session ends.
Usage analytics
The site uses Plausible for aggregate page and event analytics, such as which generator was started or which file format was downloaded. We do not intentionally send letter text, names, email addresses or other entered details as event properties. Purchase confirmation pages omit the analytics script. Hosting and payment services also process technical request information to provide their services.
Previous purchases
New purchases are paused. For previous orders, Stripe processes payment and order details under its own privacy practices. LetterReady’s server verifies the purchase status and product before serving the download. Your private purchase-session reference is sent to that verification service. Keep purchase recovery links private.
Where transactional delivery email is enabled, the purchase email address and a private download link are sent through Resend. The address is used for order delivery, not automatically subscribed to marketing. Support correspondence is handled through the contact address you use.
Advertising and external links
This version does not load an advertising script or display affiliate purchase links. External resources have their own privacy practices. If the site later adds advertising, affiliate links or another data collection feature, this policy will be updated to describe it.
