Free-generator letter content
Details entered into a letter generator and edits to the letter are processed in your browser. The generator does not send those details to our payment service or analytics. Choosing an email action opens your email app with the text; sending that email uses your email provider. Downloading or printing uses your browser and device.
Storage on your device
Favorite template choices, draft details, full-text edits and draft timestamps are saved in your browser’s local storage under “letterready:workspace:v1”. The generator also remembers your name under “letterready:name”. These drafts are kept on the current device and browser, not synchronized to an account or another device.
In your workspace, you can delete individual drafts, clear all saved writing and preferences, or turn off automatic draft saving. Turning saving off keeps existing drafts until you delete them. On a shared device, clear saved writing when you finish. Clearing the browser’s site data also removes drafts; keep downloaded copies of important documents. Draft storage is limited to 40 drafts, and older drafts are kept until you delete them.
Checklist progress is kept in the current page only. For previous purchases, a purchase-session reference can be stored in sessionStorage in the confirmation tab to support repeat downloads; it is cleared when that browser session ends.
Usage analytics
LetterReady runs its own analytics service to produce aggregate page and action counts, such as starting a generator, copying a letter, downloading a file or printing. On the kit page, it also counts free-sample download clicks and checkout requests, redirects, errors and cancellation returns. These are actions, not verified purchases; private purchase and download pages remain excluded. Analytics records contain only the public page path, a fixed action type, a referring hostname, the time and a daily changing identifier. We do not send letter text, names, email addresses, form values, URL queries or URL fragments to analytics.
To estimate daily visitors, our analytics briefly processes the request IP address and browser user-agent to create a one-way digest that changes each day. We store the digest rather than the IP address or user-agent string. These counts estimate browsers, not identified people, and do not identify a visitor across different days. Public analytics sets no tracking cookies and stores no tracking identifiers on your device. It respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control settings. Checkout, order-confirmation and administrator pages are excluded.
We aim to retain recent analytics records for approximately 35 days. Older records are removed during automatic cleanup when the site or dashboard is used; cleanup has processing limits and is not an exact expiry timer. Access to analytics reports requires administrator authentication. The private administrator dashboard uses a secure session cookie for login. Hosting and payment services also process technical request information to provide their services.
Optional digital downloads
Checkout availability for the Client Follow-up Kit is checked before purchase. Our hosting service supplies the network country to restrict live checkout to US access locations; this is not proof of billing residence. The checkout restriction does not store IP addresses, city details or the country result. Stripe collects payment and order details during checkout. LetterReady stores a private verification record containing the Stripe Session and PaymentIntent references, product and price references, amount, currency, terms version, test/live mode and verification time. It does not store payment-card details, the buyer email or client message text in this record. The record supports repeat-download verification and is retained for that purpose; contact us about access or deletion requests.
The new download page keeps its purchase reference in page memory, removes it from the URL query, and offers a private recovery link. It does not save that reference in browser storage or send it to analytics. Anyone with that link may be able to access an eligible purchase; keep it private. The downloadable offline editor makes no network requests and does not automatically save drafts. Exported files are stored wherever you choose on your device.
Support or refund requests go through the email app and provider you choose. Send only your purchase email and receipt reference, never full card details or confidential client writing. New product delivery does not automatically subscribe anyone to marketing or send a recovery email.
Previous purchases
New purchases are paused. For previous orders, Stripe processes payment and order details under its own privacy practices. LetterReady’s server verifies the purchase status and product before serving the download. Your private purchase-session reference is sent to that verification service. Keep purchase recovery links private.
Where transactional delivery email is enabled, the purchase email address and a private download link are sent through Resend. The address is used for order delivery, not automatically subscribed to marketing. Support correspondence is handled through the contact address you use.
Advertising and external links
This version does not load an advertising script or display affiliate purchase links. External resources have their own privacy practices. If the site later adds advertising, affiliate links or another data collection feature, this policy will be updated to describe it.
